Marketing trends for 2025 are changing thanks to a once in a generation shift in how people respond to marketing and advertising. So here are my top 5 predictions for agricultural marketing in 2025.

Ok, so up first, 

 

  • Video remains critical - It is the best way to get the most amount of information across to your target audience in the least amount of time and that’s why it’s so effective. All roads are going to lead to video in 2025. 

 

  • Organic content is going to be king - The way in which people are discovering, engaging and ultimately buying products and services these days is online. But here’s the catch - people don’t want to be sold to. If you’re not offering organic, valuable content to consumers online then you’re going to get left behind.

 

  • Influencers are dead. Not literally but the effectiveness of influencers are diminishing for brands across the board. Again consumers can see right through the fact you've paid a famous face or poster child for the industry to front your campaign. They don’t like being sold to and they're not stupid. 

 

  • Social media as the new search engine. TikTok has changed the game and not just in terms of social media but the way in which people search for and discover new products. If you are not building an online presence and offering valuable organic content through social media then you’re missing out.

 

  • Brand is going to become increasingly more important - particularly in agriculture. I understand everyone has sales targets and products need to be sold but you need a long term focus on building a brand people actually want to buy from. Don’t be afraid to express yourself through your content, be natural, authentic and dare to be different. 

 

The next 3-5 years in farming are going to be challenging but I do believe there are opportunities out there for those who are prepared to adapt, be brave and try something different.
